There are many benefits to regular socialization and recreation, not the least of which is your confidence that you are doing
everything you can to ensure the happiness, health and general sense of fulfillment that your dog experiences from spending
time outside with his own kind.
Mission Statement
Dogs who get enough exercise and face-time with other dogs are better behaved, longer lived and more fun to be around. Dogs
that don't get enough socialization tend to have an over-abundance of energy, are more destructive, and can come off as aggressive
to other dogs due to becoming over-excited in their presence. Problems with lack of early (puppy-stage) socialization can
be far worse.
My mission is to give every dog the kind of play and exercise that he craves. Each dog is different, and I take great
pleasure in getting to know them and finding ways to enhance that play style with one-on-one interaction. I am very involved
with the dogs during our time together, and I strive to provide each dog with what he needs to have a great time.
Also important is the communication between the walker and the parent (owner). Each client will receive a "Dog Log,"
in which I will note the departure and arrival times, the park(s) we went to, and whether the dog eliminated. This way, when
you arrive home you can see what your kiddo was up to all day, and whether he or she might need to go out again soon. This
also enables us to keep in communication easily regarding any problems or special situations.

Who are Teal and Erik?
Erik and Teal Heise are the sole proprietors and sole operators of Good Dog! This means that when you hire Good Dog! to care
for your dog, you know that he will be seeing one of our smiling faces every day, and not some random employee or independent
contractor.
Before Teal started Good Dog!, she worked for Barbara Delman at Puppy Pause. Here she learned the intricacies of the
dog-walking business, as well as furthering her knowledge of companion animal care. This knowledge continues to grow, as we
learn from the dogs, trainers, our peers, and the current literature.
Erik is a dog-loving chef who left the kitchen to join his wife in her business with the dogs they both love!
From Teal: "My decision to start my own business had far more to do with a love of dogs than a love of commerce. I get
to spend each day running and playing with 'my' wonderful dogs, and the sense of fulfillment I get from seeing them have a
good time is the greatest reward I've found in this life."
