Good Dog! Playcare

About Us:

Many years of walking dogs in public parks inspired us to create a safe, clean, secure space dedicated to dog play, free from the unpredictable nature of mixed-use parks. Our handcrafted 6000-square-foot indoor/outdoor private dog park was designed with the dogs' well-being in mind. At Good Dog! we can be selective about the dogs that come for playcare. This helps us ensure the dogs' safety by making certain they’re only exposed to other well-behaved dogs. Good Dog! also features Tiny Town to keep the smaller pups happy and safe together.

While dogs are with us, we reinforce their good manners with attentive, affectionate supervision. And we encourage lots of appropriate play to keep the dogs active so they return home tired, happy, Good Dogs!

Good Dog! Playcare is owned and operated by Teal, Erik, and Kimber. Together we have a combined 24 years of professional pet care experience. In addition, we also have specialized certification in positive-reinforcement dog training from the SF/SPCA, as well as PetTech Pet First Aid Instructor certification.

Our Philosophy:

There are many benefits to regular socialization and recreation for dogs, not the least of which is your confidence that you are doing everything you can to ensure the happiness, health and general sense of fulfillment that your dog experiences from spending time with his own kind.

Dogs who get enough exercise and face-time with other dogs are better behaved, longer lived and more fun to be around. Dogs that don't get enough socialization tend to have an over-abundance of energy, are more destructive, and can come off as aggressive to other dogs due to becoming over-excited in their presence. Problems with lack of early (puppy-stage) socialization can be far worse.

Our mission is to give every dog the kind of play and exercise that he craves. Each dog is different, and we take great pleasure in getting to know them and finding ways to enhance their play style with one-on-one interaction. We strive to provide each dog with what he needs to have a great time.  While we're at it, using non-aversive training methods, we reinforce good manners while discouraging bad habits.
